David Lewis is a historian, lecturer and musician. He currently lectures in Popular Culture, Contemporary Music from 1850 and Roots Music at the Australian Institute of Music. He has published on many subjects, including crime fiction, politics, western history, technology history, pop culture and music. He plays solidbody and acoustic mandolin, 5-string banjo, Telecaster and electric bass. (also tinwhistles, a little harmonica and can bash out a rhythm on the drums.) He likes Fender amps.
